Ham Lake is hiring a City Planner
Ham Lake is seeking applicants for the position of City Planner. This position is responsible for the administration of provisions of the Federal, State, and City Codes pertaining to building, planning and zoning in order to support the city’s growth and long-term vision, receiving and reviewing zoning related applications as well as making recommendations on applications to the Planning Commission or City Council and issuing Certificates of Occupancy, ensuring compliance with city regulations and facilitating communication between the City, developers, zoning applicants, and the community. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a solid understanding of planning principles to help guide the city’s development initiatives.
Qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban/City Planning with two years previous experience in Community Development/City Planning OR Related work experience of four years in Community Development/City Planning; knowledge of municipal operations; ability to understand and interpret City Codes; knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to development, zoning and land use; ability to read site plans, grading plans, and surveys; a class D Minnesota Driver’s License. This is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of $74,215 to $92,675.
