Permits commonly accepted online include roof and siding, water softeners, water heaters, and furnace/AC replacements. If your project type does not appear in the dropdown menu or you receive a message that the permit is not supported, you will need to submit a PDF or paper application (see Downloadable tab for more details).
Beginning 9/17/2026, permits requiring plan review are no longer supported through the Online Permit Portal. This includes projects such as new construction, remodels, septic systems, and all commercial permits.
Please refer to the "Downloadable" page for applications that must be submitted by email to bldgdept@hamlakemn.gov or in person at Ham Lake City Hall.

Online Permit Process: After all permit details are completed and online payment is received, permit(s) will be issued and emailed to you.
Apply for eligible permits, pay online, and receive your permit via email.
